Adding and Removing Programs

The Add or Remove Programs feature allows a Microsoft Windows users to manage installed programs including uninstalling any installed program on the computer. This feature was first introduced in Windows 98 and was later renamed to Uninstall a program with the introduction of Windows Vista.

 

Windows XP

  1. Open the Control Panel
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs. If done successfully you should see a screen similar to the example below.

Windows Vista and 7

1.Open the Control Panel
2.Double-click Uninstall a program.

or
1.Click Start
2.From Search programs and files type "Add or " and if "Add or remove programs" is highlighted press Enter.

If opened successfully you should see a screen similar to the example below.

Windows 8 and 10

1.Open the Control Panel
2.Click Uninstall a program.

or
1.From the Windows Start Screen type "uninstall"
2.In the right search pane click Settings and then click "Uninstall a program"
